Do crocodiles have ears
Yes they have ears, they have little valves on them which close when they submerge, much like their nostrils.

Is it possible to polish stainless steel like chrome
Stainless steel can be polished highly to a finish that comes close to chrome. Think about the blades of a swiss army knife for example. It's made of stainless steel and is very smooth and reflective with good wear characteristics.

I'm no expert on which is the best stainless steel for each purpose as there are many different grades of stainless, with various differences in properties.

Whats the incubation time for getting a cold or flu
Cold and flu symptoms usually appear within 2-3 days after infection, but that would depend largely on the state of your immune system at the time of infection. If you were deflated and "run down" when you were exposed to the infection, you would obviously have a greater chance of being affected by it and it may hit you sooner than a person in better physical health.

What Sydney landmark is this from
If it's not from the harbour bridge its either some part of the Opera house or perhaps Sydney Tower... There aren't many other prominent structures in Sydney.

Can you give me the steps on performing CPR
Ok in all seriousness here are the quick steps for CPR.

1. CALL EMERGENCY

Check the victim for unresponsiveness. If there is no response, Call The Approriate Emergency Number for you country and return to the victim. In most locations the emergency dispatcher can assist you with CPR instructions.

2. BLOW

Tilt the head back and listen for breathing. If not breathing normally, pinch nose and cover the mouth with yours and blow until you see the chest rise. Give 2 breaths in a row allowing the chest to rise and fall. Each breath should take 1 second.

3. PUMP

If the victim is still not breathing normally, coughing or moving, begin chest compressions. Push down on the chest with 2 inches of compression 30 times in the center of the chest between the nipples. Pump at the rate of 100 compressions per minute (the rate works out more than 1 per second)

Repeat the 30 breaths 2 compressions cycle until there is a responsiveness.

Can you give me the steps on performing CPR
Remember there's a magical emergency number you can dial from virtually any GSM mobile phone in the world, even if the phone is locked...its "112"

For U.S the normal emergency number is obviously 911
Canada: 911
U.K: 999
New Zealand: 111
Australia: 000

....and so on

What type of bat is this
I'll take a stab and say it's a "microbat". Of course we should wait for the batmen to arrive and possibly correct me :)

species of fallen tree
Well if it's taken in Australia, there's a pretty high probability of this being a Eucalyptus species of some sort.

That wavy bark is quite unusual... perhaps as it has died off, the once straight bark has contracted up to form the waves somehow.

Why should cold weather give you a cold and flu
As you're suggesting, being poorly dressed for cold temperatures probably has nothing to do with whether you get a cold or not. The reason why you catch the cold virus has more to do with the fact that virus can survive longer in cold dry air. Which is why there is more prevalence of colds and influenza in winter.

So therefore my theory would be :
If you were in total isolation in a cold area of the world with no presence of the virus, then it shouldn't matter how cold you get. You shouldn't come down with a cold... :P

Why is a 200 year old piece of music still copyrighted
The performance of the actual classical recording would most likely be owned by a record company, even if the original piece of was written hundreds of years ago.

So it's slightly different from downloading the text of a very old book that is now part of the "public domain"

Jelly Bagel Thing Washed Up On Beach
Doesn't look like a sea cucumber as they aren't that transparent. It looks more like some kind of jellyfish or maybe its part of a jelly fish.

Want to get this steam train working
Nice looking engine! I used to be into "N" Scale electric model trains when I was younger. This is obviously alot larger and the fact that it appears to be actually steam powered is quite special.

I don't have any experience with how you would get it going though. Maybe you can track down some instructions for it somewhere based on its manufacturer and model number.

Need to know more about this antique table
It's a beautiful table. The wood is almost certainly walnut, at least the top is.

The swirly grain patterns are very nice. I wouldn't know the age though, but maybe 19th century sometime.

Google Chrome is constantly accessing hard drive
Hey Lostboy

I noticed this yesterday when I first installed it, thought it was just me or that my antivirus was downloading something or scanning because thats what it sounds like.

I like the speed of Chrome but I'll keep using firefox until Google release an update that shuts it up.

Why do the US elections take so long
Well summed up Franklin.
Some people grumble about the fact we have compulsory voting in Australia, but seriously...it occurs once in a blue moon and it only takes 10 minutes out of your day.

Is a RAW image the same as HDR image
RAW is a sort of "pseudo" HDR image. True High Dynamic Range images are those derived from capturing an image at multiple exposure settings to get the greatest amount of light and dark information as possible.

HDR images allow light levels within an image to be stored in excess of the usual 255 levels you would get in a normal RGB jpg image.

Good digital cameras can take RAW images which are just single images that contain as much color information as possible using a single exposure.

RAW images can be tweaked using various software and plugins for photoshop, that allow you to pull out a little more detail in overly light or dark areas that would otherwise be lost in a normal JPG image. They just dont have the extended "true" range of a multi shot HDR image.

They are a good way to take professional photos though, if you have the software to deal with them. They do take a lot more storage space than a regular JPG though.

The Fastest Way To Heal A Cut
Grazing the surface of your skin without a deep wound should not cause excessive scarring. You have done the right thing covering it though. The fastest way to heal any wound like that is to keep it covered and disinfect it as you have.

Creating a slightly moist environment that is clean such as under the gauze/bandage, will allow the skin cells to recover best.

Exposing the wound to the air to dry it out faster is a bit of a myth I think.
