I have an old ATA III seagate 20gig Harddrive and it has a proper diagram on it which says the jumper pin position for 'master' should be set to the far left of the 4 pins. That's if you are holding the drive the same way as you are with the power plug on the right.
I know they aren't identical drives, but I find it hard to believe they would radically alter the positions between various ATA drive models.
