How far can a prius go before the battery needs recharging

I agree with you on the looks Steve. The original is so bland.but people dont seem to mind. The folks who by these are more concerned with fuel mileage than looks i guess.

The 2010 Prius looks much better though. Even the fact that the wheels just look slightly bigger makes all the difference.

Money no object, and no kids to move around...you couldn't go past the all electric Tesla though.

I know it's off topic a little but the current old Prius is one of the ugliest things going around on the road..but they seem to have taken some steps to make it more attractive in the new 2010 version.

Still...you be the judge....

The front end is a big improvment, but the rear end is still somewhat ugly.

The current Toyota Prius is not fully electric alone. It's battery gets charged from the small gasoline engine onboard.
So basically as long as you have gas you can drive it.

For the current prius model( up until 2008) I have seen a site which quotes an average mileage of 45 per gallon. That works out at 600miles in range.

The 2010 model coming out has expected figures of around 89mpg!
