Paul is right on the dates. It would have to from the early part of the 20th century.
That style of handle shape and the condition that it is in tends to indicate that it might be in the region of 1911-1930 probably.
Not sure on value for something like this, it would not be a hugely sort after item I don't think. At the same time there probably aren't a great many of them floating around any more, so it may have some value to a wine maker or wine enthusiast.
Mauri Brothers was a Portugese firm dating from the 1900s that specialised in cork imports and exports. It didn't become Mauri Bros and Thomson until 1911. So it is most likely post 1911. Also Mauri Bros and Thomson was bought by Burns Philp in the 70's so it is likely to be older than that.
